Financial Controller

As a Financial Controller, you will strengthen the Finance team by contributing to our financial strategy. In a team of five members within a growing organization, you will be responsible for processing actual figures, updating and managing costs, overseeing bank transactions, and preparing VAT, payroll tax, and corporate tax returns. This will be done in collaboration with accountants, tax advisors, or payroll specialists. You will also oversee the monthly closing process and assist in preparing reports while supporting audit processes.

Here’s a summary of the tasks you will perform:

• Processing intangible assets and depreciation.
• Managing, updating, and controlling tangible assets.
• Processing incoming invoices and managing the expense journal.
• Preparing payment proposals and processing/checking bank transactions.
• Processing payroll and expense journal entries.
• Preparing VAT and payroll tax returns.
• Drafting corporate tax returns and coordinating with tax advisors and/or accountants.
• Actively contributing to the improvement and automation of financial and reporting processes.
• Supporting financial forecasting and reporting, including monthly reports, cash flow statements, and analyses.

You are someone with a proactive attitude and an affinity for IT. Being hands-on, you view the organization as your customer, which encourages you to think along and contribute to improving and automating financial processes. Additionally, you either live near Deventer or are willing to travel to our Deventer office at least three times a week.

• HBO or WO level of thinking and working (Controlling/Accountancy).
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant administrative/accounting experience.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Fluent in Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
• Proficiency in German is a plus.
• Excellent Excel skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

• A gross salary ranging from €3,000 to €4,500 per month, depending on experience and potential.
• A challenging position with growth prospects, starting with a one-year contract that can be converted to a permanent contract, if both parties are satisfied.
• A full-time role with flexible working hours.
• Office location in Deventer, with the option to work flexibly from our offices in Enschede, Utrecht, Nijmegen, Venlo, Maastricht, Breda, Amsterdam, or from home.
